High Performance Scalable Data Framework |
Reston, VA |
SMSi offers a commercial product available on GSA
schedule that is ideally suited for research projects that
use major computational and data resources. The software
is called Twister, and it is a proven, scalable data
framework that is already in use in the Intel Community
and DoD for processing massive amounts (TB to PB) of
textual and geospatial data and for cross domain federated
query access. Twister is a parallel solution that can be
used to handle streaming or static data sets in a
clustered environment so that the processing load can be
distributed over hundreds of nodes. Twister employs a
strict security model that enforces role-based access and
provides a data encryption capability.
In addition to its scalability, Twisters flexibility
makes it ideal as a back end data prep solution for
evaluating a variety of analytical tools, each requiring a
specific data format for input. Twister allows seamless
integration of third party tools since it is based on a
component-based architecture and has a robust API.
Twister will reduce development time and integration costs
for research projects by streamlining the data ingest,
integration, and delivery processes. Finally, Twister
provides an easy to use visual development environment
that promotes higher maintainability and reusability of
data processing components and workflows.
